Full body wrap services, Ayurvedic treatments, mud and aromatic baths combined with Hydrotherapy, Balneo-therapy and Thalassotherapy complement an extensive list of exclusive treatments from around the world. Specialists trained in “LaStone” therapy use heated and chilled stones for a healing, relaxing massage; along with the use of other natural botanicals, aromatherapy, and exfoliating and moisturizing massages to indulge in. Facials, salon services, a sauna, a steam room and a whirlpool encourage guests to completely relax in separate facilities for men and women. The Spa has eight treatment rooms, each opening onto private gardens where guests may relax after the treatment. Fitness amenities include state-of-the-art exercise equipment, classes, and programs including yoga and personal training. Reser-vations should be made at least two to three weeks in advance for any spa services at Las Ventanas al Paraiso. While the Spa has received rave reviews, the accommodations at Las Ventanas are what discriminating clientele desire. With just 61 suites spread throughout a minimalist design in harmony with the desert surroundings, the hotel is centered above an award-winning infinity pool and boasts the largest standard rooms in Mexico. Tastefully decorated in understated elegance, the overall effect is low-key and timeless. Posh touches include sumptuous linens and bath products, terra cotta fireplaces, telescopes for viewing the night sky, Jacuzzi splash pools and private rooftop patios on upstairs suites. The rooms are set in small, lowrise clusters laid out in such a fashion that guests are ensured an optimum of privacy. The oceanfront finishing hole of the Robert Trent Jones II Championship golf course is nestled at the eastern edge of the property affording spectacular views of the verdant green, desert topography and the azure Sea of Cortez. Guests enjoy privileges at this course as well at two nearby Jack Nicklaus-designed courses.
Next door to Las Ventanas is Casa del Mar Golf Resort and Spa, a luxury condominium resort and hotel. Set amidst lush and ample tropical gardens on a surprisingly deserted string of sand, Casa del Mar is an upscale getaway carefully built and decorated in traditional 19th-century Hacienda style. With just 24 rooms within the hotel the atmosphere is inviting and intimate. An additional 32 suites with full kitchens are available around the hotel in lowrise buildings. Amenities include Jacuzzi tubs, marble floors and spacious private terraces. Unlike other properties, the resort has an unusually spacious design of beautifully maintained grounds and never feels crowded, with room for four Astroturf tennis courts and six pools, including a beachclub and bar. Booking a court or finding a vacant lounge chair never seems to be a problem, even during the busiest times of the year. Golfers will appreciate the guaranteed tee times offered to guests at the Robert Trent Jones II and Jack Nicklaus Eldorado Championship courses within Cabo Real. The facilities at the Spa at Casa del Mar include eight treatment rooms, three each for men and women with a facial and wet room. A large Jacuzzi with cascading waters enlivens the spa, providing a wonderful respite in soothing surroundings. The focus of the Spa at Casa del Mar is on treatments using indigenous ingredients from the local desert environment. The Baja Desert Cleanse, a total body treatment designed to purify both the mind and body, uses local clay rich in minerals, followed by an application of refreshing, healing aloe vera gel. A wide range of massages and body wraps are available including shiatsu, deep tissue sport massage, reflexology and an array of aromatherapy treatments. Full facial services (including men’s skincare) using the therapeutic Thermologica skincare line complements the many exclusive treatments at this intimate spa. Gym facilities with individually tailored programs will appeal to those looking to maintain their shape before enjoying the many therapies created exclusively for the Spa at Casa del Mar.
Also within the Cabo Real resort are two hotels of the Sol Melia group, the 302-room Melia Cabo Real and the 150-suite Melia Los Cabos. Very different in architecture and flavor, each boasts an Avanti Spa, one of the groundbreaking spas in Los Cabos. Hidden discreetly from the highway, the Westin Regina Golf and Beach resort sits at the eastern limits of the Cabo Real development. Contemporary in all respects, the Westin Regina combines old-world Mexican hospitality with all the modern amenities Westin resorts are known for. The Spa at the Westin Regina is no exception to that rule. It features two separate treatment rooms for men and women, a facial room, steam room, sauna and whirlpool. Long known for its superb full-service beauty salon, the Spa also provides relaxing facials and a variety of massage. The fitness center has an aerobic studio, computerized exercise equipment and a good selection of free weights. The Sheraton Hacienda del Mar Resort and Spa at Cabo del Sol resembles a sophisticated Mexican colonial village with attractive buildings in terra cotta shades of Hacienda-style architecture.
